MISSION STATEMENT

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Lacombe Waste Services is committed to protection and preservation of the environment and natural resources through our continued responsible
action in all aspects of business. Our Commitment will be realized through the creation of safe and environmentally responsible services,
manufacturing processes and products that meet our customer’s needs while minimizing environmental impact. Our specific goals and objectives are to:
- Meet or exceed all environmental laws and regulations (at all levels of government where our services are provided and products are manufactured and sold).
- Design and operate facilities that conserve energy and minimize the effects of operations and production on the environment by reducing waste and pollution and by utilizing non-polluting technologies wherever practicable.
- Maintain processing operations that are safe for employees, consumers and the environment.
- Reduce the volume and weight of packaging consistent with labeling requirements, product protection and consumer safety, utilize recycled and recyclable materials in packaging whenever possible, and encourage vendors and our customers to recycle.
- Provide safe, high quality services with the lowest level of impact on the environment.
- Dispose of any waste handled or generated in a manner, which not only meets regulatory requirements, but also demonstrates consideration for generations.
It is our intention to create the necessary structure and procedures to accomplish and maintain these objectives.
SAFETY POLICY
It is the policy of Lacombe Waste Services to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This goal will be realized through the following objectives.
- Maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, accepted standards of safe work practices and company safety procedures.
- Ensuring that all employees are adequately aware of any health and safety hazards that may be present in the workplace and of the procedures and equipment in place to minimize these hazards.
- All facilities are operated and maintained in a manner that reduces the potential for accidents, illnesses and injuries.
- Providing all employees with adequate training, information, assistance and guidance concerning safety programs so as to foster a positive attitude towards safety.
All employees understand that participation in and understanding of safety programs is condition of employment. Our employees
have willingly accepted stewardship of safety of his/her co-workers.

Total capacity is 1,777.07 tonnes or 1,777,068 litres

- Bulk Liquid Storage (11 Storage Tanks) 673,498 L
- Solid Non-Hazardous Bulk Storage 450 MT
- Solid Hazardous Bulk Storage 50 MT
- Water Treatment Bulk Storage 279,989 L
- Receiving capacity is limited by the total capacity of the licensed storage areas
- Maximum amount of waste leaving the facility daily is 299 MT (this does not include treated waste water transported to ROPEC)
- 4,163 L – sewage in plastic above ground tanks 49,500 L – sewage in a tanker trailer
- 49,500 L – grease trap waste in a tanker trailer

EMPLOYEE TRAINING/ORIENTATION
All Lacombe site employees are trained to safely carry out their required duties with the proper knowledge, in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Ontario Regulation 347.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act
All employees having involvement in the transportation, shipping, receiving, processing and storage of dangerous goods are trained and certified under the TDG Regulation.
Ontario Regulation 347
All employees of the Lacombe Facility are trained in Regulation 347 (Waste). The intent is to include any person who, through ownership, management, operation or control, will create or store wastes.
WHMIS
Employees are WHMIS trained as per the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
SPILL PROCEDURES
All employees having involvement in the transportation, shipping, receiving, processing and storage of dangerous goods and wastes are trained in the spill procedures that are part of the operational procedures at Lacombe Waste.
EMERGENCY FIRST AID/CPR
Training is provided to all employees to ensure that a first aid response program is available at all times. A qualified outside agency will carry out the training.
CONFINED SPACE ENTRY
Training is provided to employees involved in work where the working area is considered to be a confined space. A qualified outside agency will carry out the training. (includes: fall arrest, non-entry rescues, entry rescue, air monitoring)
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Training is provided to employees involved in work involving Emergency Response (HAZWOPER, NFPA 472 –tech level)
